The match between Djokovic and Musetti lasted four hours and 29 minutes.
World number-1 tennis player Novak Djokovic has reached the fourth round of the French Open 2024. He registered a hard-fought victory against Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in a match that lasted till 3 am (IST) on Sunday. This is Djokovic’s 369th win in a Grand Slam tournament and with this he equaled Roger Federer’s record.
The third round match of men’s singles between Djokovic and Musetti lasted for four hours and 29 minutes. Djokovic defeated Musetti 7-5, 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-0. When Musetti won two consecutive sets, it seemed that it would be difficult for Djokovic to make a comeback, but the player who has won 24 Grand Slams made a comeback and won the match.

Sabalenka defeated Badosa
World number two Aryna Sabalenka had the advantage on Court Philippe Chatrier, coming back to beat close friend Paula Badosa. Sabalenka, a two-time Australian Open champion, won 10 of the last 11 games to beat the Spaniard 7-5, 6-1.
First player to win 24 Grand Slams in the Open Era
Djokovic is the first player to win 24 Grand Slams in the Open Era. Djokovic was earlier tied with Serena Williams (23 Grand Slams) for winning the most Grand Slams (men’s and women’s singles). Margaret Court has also won a total of 24 Grand Slams, but 13 of those titles were won before the Open Era.
The Open Era in tennis began in 1968 when all players (amateurs and professionals) were allowed to participate in all four Grand Slams. This is called the Open Era.
