In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections this seat voted in Phase 3 on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 and the results were declared on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

In the 2014 polls this constituency voted in Phase 1 on Thursday, April 10, 2014 and the results were declared on Friday, May 16, 2014.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Adv A Sampath of CPM won this seat beating Prof G Balachandran of INC by a margin of 18,341 votes which was 2.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM had a vote share of 45.36% in the seat.
