Counting will be done under tight security
In view of the possibility of violence during the counting of votes, tight security arrangements have been made at all the counting centers in UP. More than 1 lakh security personnel have been deployed. DGP Prashant Kumar said, three layers of security have been put in place at the counting center. CRPF will be deployed wherever counting will take place and everyone will be checked. The police is keeping a close watch on those who disturb law and order. The social media team is monitoring to ensure that no rumors spread on social media.

Trends from 9 am, Kanpur result first
Counting will be done at 81 centers for 80 Lok Sabha seats of UP. Counting will start at 8 am and trends will start coming from 9 am. Kanpur’s result will come first. Counting will be done in 25 rounds here. Counting will be done in 41 rounds in Ghaziabad and results will come late here.

A total of 851 candidates are in the fray in the UP elections. Of these, 771 are men and 80 are women. The maximum number of 28 candidates are from Ghosi. Om Prakash Rajbhar’s son Arvind Rajbhar is contesting from here. The minimum number of 4 candidates are from Kaiserganj, from where BJP MP Brij Bhushan’s son Karan Bhushan is contesting.

53 MPs from UP are again in the electoral fray
This time 53 current MPs are contesting elections in UP. BJP has given tickets to 48 MPs again. SP has given tickets to 3 MPs, Apna Dal (S) and BSP have given tickets to one MP each. For the first time in this election, Azam Khan’s family is not contesting the elections.

In 2024, 56.92% voting took place. In 2019, 59.11% votes were cast. That means 2.19% less votes were cast. If we talk about 2019, BJP had won the maximum 62 seats in UP. Apna Dal-2, BSP-10, SP got 5 seats. Congress had won only Rae Bareli seat.

SP-Congress alliance, RLD came with BJP

  • The 2024 elections are being fought in SP-Congress alliance. SP is contesting on 62 seats, while Congress has been given 17 seats. The Bhadohi seat has been given to Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC.
  • BJP is contesting on 75 seats. It has given 2 seats to Apna L(S), 2 seats to RLD and 1 seat to Subhaspa.
  • BSP is contesting the elections alone. In 2019, BSP contested the elections in alliance with SP.

7 exit polls predict 67 to 71 seats for BJP
In 7 exit polls, NDA has been predicted to win 67 to 71 seats out of 80 in UP. SP-Congress’s indie alliance is getting 9 to 13 seats. Mayawati is once again shrinking to zero after 2014. Akhilesh and Rahul’s alliance does not seem to be effective in terms of seats.
