On World Environment Day, tree plantation was done in the campus in collaboration with School of Pharmacy and Student Welfare Department of Sharda University located in Knowledge Park, Greater Noida. During this, students and staff were made aware to plant trees around them and protect the environment.

Dean of Sharda School of Pharmacy, Dr. Amrish Chandra said that in view of the impact of unexpected changes in the environment on humans as well as animals, the university’s main campaign will focus on planting trees and saving lives. On this day, people were urged to plant trees in homes and public places and protect them along with protecting the environment. He said that due to tampering with nature, indiscriminate cutting of trees and increasing pollution, we are facing severe heat and water crisis.

Dean of the University’s Student Welfare Department, Dr Pramod Kumar said that plants absorb carbon dioxide and give us oxygen. The tree planting program was organized with the aim of making people aware about planting trees and taking care of them. This day is celebrated to make people aware about environmental hazards and how the damage caused by it can be prevented. Environmental protection is an important step towards ensuring a better and safer environment for our children and future generations.

It is important to explain the deep relationship between humans and the environment. Only then will people understand their responsibility towards it. To fight environmental problems, the education system at the school level will need to be made more and more practical. Only then can we save human existence. For this, parents as well as children need to come together.
