BJP faced defeat for the second consecutive time in the assembly by-election held in Gasdi in Balrampur. Samajwadi Party candidate and son of former MLA Dr. Shiv Prasad Yadav has won by getting 87112 votes. BJP’s Shailesh Kumar Singh Shailu was defeated by 9437 votes.

In the Gasdi assembly elections 2022, SP candidate Dr. Shiv Prasad Yadav won by getting 73345 votes. He defeated BJP candidate Shailesh Kumar Singh Shailu by 5837 votes. In the assembly elections Gasdi, the BJP candidate was reduced to 69508. After the death of SP’s Dr. Shiv Prasad Yadav before the election, the assembly by-election of Gasdi was held. In which SP fielded Dr. Shiv Prasad Yadav’s son Rakesh Yadav against BJP candidate Shailesh Kumar Singh Shailu by giving him a ticket. In which SP has won.

On winning the assembly by-election in Gasdi, SP candidate Rakesh Yadav says that this victory is not ours but the victory of the people. The public has shown trust in us after seeing the work of our father. I will never let this trust diminish and will develop the area by taking everyone along. I will also work to complete the work that was left during my father’s time.

BJP could not stand against father and son
Actually, Balrampur is that seat of BJP. From where the country has received 2 Bharat Ratnas. The first name is of Pandit Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the second name is of Nanaji Deshmukh. Both the leaders contested elections from here and won. Nanaji Deshmukh contested elections against the royal family and won. But now the atmosphere seems to be different.

BJP has faced defeat for the second time in a row in the assembly by-election of Gasdi in Balrampur assembly constituency. Samajwadi Party candidate and son of former MLA Dr. Shiv Prasad Yadav won by getting 87112 votes. BJP’s Shailesh Kumar Singh defeated Shailu by 9437 votes. Shailu Singh was reduced to 77683 votes. Once again, the effect of the election campaign of big BJP leaders was not seen in this assembly constituency.
