The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the result and final answer key of the NEET undergraduate exam. 13.16 lakh students have cleared the NEET exam. A total of 67 students secured AIR 1 in NEET UG. This year the qualifying cutoff marks are 164 for the general category and 129 for all reserved categories. Now all the aspirants are waiting for the counseling round.

Before the counselling round begins, candidates are doubtful about their scores and whether they will be able to get admission in their desired college or not. In this story, our experts tell us what score is required to get admission in a government college and which countries candidates with low scores can study MBBS from.

Cutoff for government colleges may go up to 660
Medical admission executive Riya Sharma said that this year the cutoff for admission in MBBS in government colleges is expected to be 660 to 670 for general category and 590 to 600 for other reserved categories. At the same time, the cutoff for BDS is expected to be 500+ for general category and 450+ for other reserved categories.
Many candidates do not get admission in good and low-fee government colleges. In such a situation, candidates choose the option of doing MBBS in other countries. There are many countries where the cost of medical studies and hostel is less than any private Indian college.

This year, more than 24 lakh students had registered for the NEET UG exam. Of these, more than 10 lakh were male students, more than 13 lakh were female students and 24 students were from the third gender.

Medical education is cheaper in Russia-Georgia than in India
Medical admission counselor Riya Sharma said that students can take admission in Russia and Georgia. Students also get admission in Russian government universities on NRI quota, the fees of which are very low. Students can complete their studies and hostel fees by spending capital of Rs 15 lakh to 30 lakh in Russia and more than Rs 30 lakh in Georgia.

It is necessary to be NEET qualified for admission abroad
The candidate must be NEET qualified. Based on this year’s NEET result, the general category candidates must have a minimum score of 164 and other category candidates must have a minimum score of 129. Apart from this, the candidate must also have his/her 10th, 12th mark sheet-certificate, Aadhar card verified with mobile number and passport.

Apply from the university website
To get admission in a foreign university, candidates have to apply to the right university through a valid channel. Some universities have a link to their application on their website, while many universities also accept applications through e-mail. For this, candidates can also take the help of admission counselors. They also provide facilities like hostel and study visa to the candidates.

How to fill the counselling form
While filling the counselling form, you will have to hit equally for both MBBS and BDS. In such a situation, priority will have to be fixed while filling the choices.
State count round 1 will start only after the first All India Quota (AIQ) round 1. In such a situation, if you do not get selected in the first AIQ, then you may get selected in the state counseling. Similarly, it will be for the second, third and fourth rounds. Information about its date etc. will be available in the notification of NMC and the counseling body of the state government.

Counseling is expected to start in the first week of July
NMC will soon release the notification on its official website. The process of AIQ quota counselling is expected to begin in the first week of July. Candidates will participate in the counselling on the basis of their NEET scorecard and will be able to take admission in medical courses.

There are two ways of medical counseling
There are approximately 1 lakh 15 thousand seats for MBBS and BDS across the country. Admission to these seats is done through two types of counseling. First is MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) counseling and second is state counseling.

15% state seats included in MCC counseling
Under the MCC All India Counselling Quota, counselling for 100% seats of Deemed and Central (AIIMS, AFMC, JIPMER and ESIC) institutes and 15% seats of all State Government Colleges is done through MCC.
At the same time, state counseling is also similar to MCC counseling. In this, counseling is done for 85% seats of government colleges of every state and 100% seats of private colleges.
Private colleges in some states do not allow candidates from other states to appear for the first one or two rounds. They conduct closed counseling for candidates from their state. If their seats are not full after one or two rounds, they open them for students from other states. Such states are called closed states, like Madhya Pradesh. The rest of the states are called open states.
