In Fatehpur, the body of a woman was found hanging from a noose inside the house under suspicious circumstances. On receiving the information, the family members of the woman’s family informed the police after seeing the injury marks on the body. The police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem.

On receiving the information that the body of Vinod Lodhi’s 24 year old wife Gomti Devi was found hanging in a room of the house under suspicious circumstances, people from her maternal side reached there. Seeing the injury marks on the woman’s body, they informed the police. On receiving the information, the police took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem.

Family members and others arrived after receiving information about the woman’s death.

The body was hung after the murder
The woman’s uncle Vikram Singh, resident of Kandhaipur, Chitrakoot district, said that my brother Phoolchandra married his daughter Gomti Devi to Vinod Lodhi, son of Dharam Singh, resident of Ailai, on 20 February 2023. Since the marriage, the in-laws including the husband used to beat the niece every day demanding a car and money in dowry. They kept her hungry and thirsty for many days. When the demand was not met, the in-laws first killed his niece after beating her. After this, the body was hanged. The niece’s body was hanging on the noose, but her feet and knees were touching the ground. From this, it is being assumed that she was murdered and the body was hanged. A complaint has been lodged in the police station against four people including the husband.

Action will be taken after the postmortem report
Kotwali in-charge Tej Bahadur Singh said that a woman has committed suicide by hanging herself. The postmortem of the body is being done. Further action will be taken after the postmortem report arrives.
