On Monday night, a masked miscreant attacked a businessman with knives while he was returning home with his cousin after closing his shop at a mall located in Nagar Kotwali area of Bahraich district. Police reached the spot after getting information from people and admitted the injured to the district hospital.

Swatantrata Pandey, a resident of Kanungopura in the city, has a mobile shop in Sumaiya Mall located in Nazirpura locality. His cousin brother Alok Pandey also sits at the shop. On Monday night at 10 o’clock Swatantrata Pandey closed the shop and left for home. His cousin brother was also with him.
While he was sitting on the bike, a masked man suddenly attacked Swatantrata with a knife. When his brother tried to catch the masked miscreant, he was also attacked. The injured was admitted to the district hospital.
On getting information about the incident, the police team of Kotwali Nagar reached the spot. The statement of the injured was recorded. The police officer said that a case has been registered and the search for the accused has been started.
