According to the girl’s mother who was an eyewitness present in the room, I was sleeping with my daughter in the room inside the house. It was morning time. I woke up hearing a slight noise in the room. I saw that a boy was sitting near the bed. I could not utter a word due to fear. The daughter also woke up. The boy had a pistol in his hand. The boy asked the daughter… will you marry me or not. As soon as she did not answer, he shot the daughter. I screamed, the boy ran out of the room. Hearing my scream and the sound of the gunshot, the family members ran. He ran towards the fields. He was chased. People are saying that the boy has committed suicide.

There was blood scattered on the floor of the room and verandah of the house.

The story started a year and a half ago
Actually this story starts about one and a half years ago. The boy’s name was Rajan. He lived in Bhayla village of Deoband. He has an elder brother in his family. His parents have died. The family has been divided. Rajan’s aunt lived in Nagla. He used to visit his aunt’s house to give bhaat.

It was here that he saw the girl for the first time. According to the people of the village, they became friends. They were often seen coming and going together. Meanwhile, the news of their love affair also started becoming a topic of discussion among the people.

When the villagers saw them coming and going, they made the girl quit her studies
The girl was studying in 12th class from Janta Inter College, Nagal. When the girl’s parents came to know about her friendship with the boy, they made the girl leave her studies. Meanwhile, Rajan kept trying to meet the girl. He would also call the girl’s house. According to the girl’s mother, Rajan was also their distant relative. He did not have a permanent job. Sometimes he would do one thing, sometimes another. Sometimes he would create a ruckus after getting drunk. That is why we stopped him from meeting the girl.

Meanwhile, he also proposed to marry my daughter. But we did not like his attitude. Our family refused the marriage. Although he kept thinking that since he is friends with my daughter, she will marry him. But seeing his actions, my daughter also refused to marry him. Because of this, he used to be angry with my daughter and our family.

This is the place in the middle of the fields where the boy committed suicide after killing the girl.

The girl’s aunt’s house is in the neighbourhood of the girl’s house, who died a few years ago. The aunt’s son lives there. People from both families reached the police station. A panchayat was held, the brother and relatives took responsibility of Rajan. They said in front of the police that he will not harass anymore. After this, both families reached a compromise.
