1. Malawi’s Vice President dies in plane crash
On June 11, 9 people including the Vice President of the African country Malawi, Saulos Klaus Chilima, died in a plane crash. On June 10, a military plane carrying Saulos Chilima took off from the capital Lilongwe. This plane crashed in the hills of Chikangwa. Chilima was being seen as a candidate for the presidential elections to be held next year.
Chilima, 51, was the Vice President of Malawi for the last 10 years.
2. India to host Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup
On June 11, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced the host country for the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 in Switzerland. FIH made India the host country for the World Cup. The World Championship will begin in December 2024. India has hosted the event in Delhi in 2013, Lucknow in 2016 and Bhubaneswar in 2021. The last Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup was held in Malaysia, which was won by Germany.
India has hosted the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup three times.
3. Manu Bhaker got selected in two categories for Paris Olympics
On June 11, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) announced the 15-member Indian rifle and pistol team for the Paris Olympics. Women’s pistol shooter Manu Bhaker has been selected in two categories.
Manu won gold in the women’s 25m pistol category at the Asian Games 2023. She won bronze in the 25m pistol at the Cairo World Championships in 2022. The Olympic Games 2024 will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
Manu Bhaker will participate in women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol.

2. BSF has released recruitment for 1526 posts including Sub Inspector, Constable
Border Security Force (BSF) has started the online registration process for recruitment in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Candidates can apply by visiting the website rectt.bsf.gov.in.
Educational Qualification :
For Assistant Sub Inspector, candidates must be 12th pass. Also, they must have stenographer skills. 12th pass candidates can also apply for Head Constable.
Age Range :
- Minimum Age : 18 Years
- Maximum Age : 25 Years
- Age relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

1. Supreme Court refuses to stay NEET counselling
The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to stay the NEET counselling. In this regard, student Shivangi Mishra and 9 other students had filed a petition in the court on June 1. In this, a complaint was made about the irregularities caused due to distribution of wrong question papers at the exam centres of Bihar and Rajasthan and a demand was made to cancel the exam and conduct an SIT investigation.
The Supreme Court bench issued a notice to the exam conducting body ‘National Testing Agency’ (NTA) and said- the credibility of NEET UG has been affected. We want an answer to this.
The vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah heard the case. Now the next hearing of this case will be on 8th July.
2. Now university admissions will be held twice a year
Now there will be a chance to take admission in universities and colleges twice a year. The University Grants Commission i.e. UGC has approved starting the admission process twice a year in universities and higher education institutes. UGC Chairman Jagdish M Kumar says that this will increase opportunities for students and Indian higher education institutions will become of global standard.
