Pakistan’s first win in T20 World Cup: Defeated Canada by 7 wickets, Rizwan’s half century, Aamir-Rauf took 2-2 wickets

Pakistan has achieved its first victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. The team defeated Canada by 7 wickets.
On Tuesday, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field at Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York. Canada scored 106 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan achieved the target for 7 wickets in 17.3 overs.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan played a half-century innings of 53 runs. In bowling, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Aamir took 2-2 wickets. For Canada, opener Aaron Johnson played an innings of 52 runs. Dilon Heiliger took 2 wickets.
Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the Super-8 are still alive. With one win, the team has now got 2 points in the points table.
Player performance: Rizwan scored a half-century, Aamir and Rauf got 2-2 wickets each
Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. While bowling, Pakistan’s bowlers gave the team a great start. Mohammad Aamir took 2 wickets for just 13 runs with the ball. Haris Rauf also supported him well and took 2 wickets for 26 runs.
On the other hand, Rizwan batted brilliantly and scored a half-century. He scored 53 runs in 53 balls. Babar Azam supported him well by scoring 33 runs.
While batting for Canada, Aaron Jones was the only fighter. He scored 52 runs in 44 balls. Apart from Jones, no batsman could score even 15 runs. On the other hand, Dilon Heyliger took the first two wickets in bowling. Both the players were fighters of the match.

Reasons for Pakistan’s victory
- The line-length of the fast bowlers is correct and they take wickets consistently- All four Pakistani pacers (Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Aamir) performed brilliantly. The bowlers kept bowling on the same line length, due to which Canada lost wickets continuously.
- Babar-Rizwan partnership- Pakistan’s batsmen did not lose wickets continuously. After the first wicket fell in the powerplay, there was a partnership of 63 runs in 62 balls between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. After the 5th over, Pakistan lost the next wicket in the 15th over.

Canada had a good start but later lost wickets in quick succession
Canada batted first. 11 runs were scored in the first over. There was excellent batting till the fourth over, only one wicket was lost. However, wickets fell continuously in the sixth and seventh overs. After this, wickets kept falling continuously.
Opener Aaron Jones alone scored 52 runs from one end. Apart from him, Navneet Dhaliwal scored 4 runs, Pargat Singh scored 2 runs, Nicholas Kirton scored 1 run, Shreyas Movva scored 2 runs and Ravinderpal Singh was out after scoring 0 runs.
In the end, Captain Saad Bin Zafar scored 10 runs, Kaleem Sana scored 13 runs and Dilan Halinger scored 9 runs and took the team to a total of 106 runs.
Pakistan easily completed the run chase
Pakistan chased the target easily. Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub started the innings. Ayub was out after scoring 6 runs. After this, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan made a half-century partnership and ensured victory.
In the end, Fakhar Zaman was dismissed after scoring 4 runs. In the end, Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed after scoring 53 runs and Usman Khan was dismissed after scoring 2 runs.
Canadian bowlers failed
Apart from Dilon Heyliger, no bowler could perform well in Canada. No bowler could get a wicket in the initial overs. However, Jeremy Gordon took a wicket in the 18th over, but by then it was too late.
