We often hear about the soaring cost of living in metropolitan cities. However, a recent revelation by a man named Raj has sent shockwaves across the internet. Raj, in a post on X (Formerly Twitter), stated that he pays a staggering Rs 64,000 per month in rent for his flat in Noida.
His post featured a photograph showcasing his workspace set up in his room complete with a desk, computer and chair. Raj amusingly dubbed the view from his balcony as “dreamy” but the reality shows a neighbouring building blocking the scene. He lives in a flat in Noida’s Sector 121.

Raj’s post quickly went viral online, accumulating over 138,000 views. Many users were taken aback by the hefty rent Raj mentioned and didn’t hesitate to express their reactions in the comment section.
One user wrote in disbelief, “Not possible. Here is a good society max you will be charged 30k for 3bhk Not more than that!! You are in which Which society?”
Another jokingly commented, “If watching someone else balcony for 64k is a dream then I will pay 2k with no windows.”
A sceptic chimed in, “Believe me you got scammed bro. My friend is living in sector 76 with a much better view paying just 26k.”
“Not possible, Noida is not more costly than other tier 1 cities like Mumbai & BLR,” someone remarked.
A person joked, “If you pay 64k for accommodation in Noida, Akhilesh Singh will personally visit you and offer his home.”
Despite the soaring rent prices in urban areas, people continue to flock to cities for various opportunities. Just recently, software engineer Ashish Jha shared a glimpse of his life from his 3BHK apartment in Bengaluru. In the post, he expressed that spending “Rs 80,000 in rent feels worth it because of such views.”
The post featured a photo from his balcony view showcasing a rainbow amidst the high-rise buildings. The post quickly gained traction online prompting debate about the financial feasibility of such highly priced accommodations.
