1. BJP government formed for the first time in Odisha
Mohan Charan Majhi became the Chief Minister of Odisha on 12 June. Governor Raghuvar Das administered him the oath of the Chief Minister’s post. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present on the stage on this occasion. With this, Odisha has got a tribal Chief Minister after 24 years. Kanak Vardhan Singh Dev and Prabhati Parida took oath as Deputy CM.

2. Chandrababu Naidu became CM for the fourth time
On June 12, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo Chandrababu Naidu became the 24th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Governor Abdul Nazir administered the oath to the CM and ministers at Kesarapalli IT Park in Vijayawada. Janasena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan took oath as Deputy CM. The new government will have 25 members including the CM and Deputy CM.

3. Indian football coach TK Chathunni passes away
On June 12, former Indian football player and coach TK Chathunni died in a private hospital in Kerala. 79-year-old Chathunni was suffering from cancer. Chathunni played for Kerala and Goa in the Santosh Trophy as a defender. He coached many teams for more than 40 years.

4. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi became Army Chief
On June 11, the central government appointed Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi as the new Army Chief. He will replace the current Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, who is retiring on June 30. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi will take charge on June 30. Currently, he is serving as the Vice Chief of Army Staff.

1. Recruitment for 97 posts of Grade A Officer in SEBI
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has started recruitment for the posts of Grade A Officer in General Legal Information Technology Research Official Language and Engineering. Candidates can apply by visiting the board’s website sebi.gov.in.

Educational Qualification :

  • Assistant Manager (General Stream): Graduation degree with PG Diploma or Diploma in any discipline.
  • Assistant Manager (Legal): Graduation degree in Law.
  • Grade A (IT): Graduation in any branch of Engineering or Graduation in any discipline with PG in Computer Science or Applications.

Age Range :

  • Candidates age should not be more than 30 years as on 31st March 2024.
  • Only candidates born on or after 1 April 1994 can apply.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be given relaxation in maximum age limit as per Central Government rules.

2. Indian Air Force released notification for recruitment of Agniveer Vayu
Indian Air Force has issued a short notification for recruitment to the posts of Agniveer Vayu. The application process for this recruitment will start from 8th July 2024. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website agnipathvayu.cdac.in. The recruitment exam will be conducted on 18th October.

Educational Qualification :

  • 12th (with Physics, Chemistry, Maths subjects) from a recognized board/institute/ Engineering Diploma in relevant discipline.

Age Range :

  • The age of the candidates should be minimum 17.5 years and maximum 21 years.

1. A bench of retired judges should investigate the NEET result, a new petition filed in the Supreme Court
Now a new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court in the NEET exam controversy. The petition states that the investigation of the irregularities in the NEET result should be given to a panel of retired judges of the Supreme Court or High Court. Currently, a 4-member committee of NTA is investigating the matter.

In the NEET UG exam results released on June 4, 1563 students have been given grace marks. A petition was filed on June 10 against this. NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh had constituted a panel to investigate the matter on June 8.

The Delhi High Court heard 4 new petitions regarding giving grace marks in NEET UG exam and alleged paper leak. The court has issued notice to NTA in this regard. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna’s bench gave this decision. The next hearing of the case will be held before the roster bench on July 5.

2. AI and Data at IIT Madras new course in analytics

IIT Madras has started a new course in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. This will be a 4-year BTech program in which candidates can take admission on the basis of JEE Advanced scores.
