Darshan Arrest: New CCTV Footage Reveals Renukaswamy Was Kidnapped, Taken to Bengaluru Before Murder – News18

In a big development in the Renuka Swamy murder case, shocking CCTV footages have surfaced which shed light on the abduction of Darshan’s fan in Chitradurga before he was taken to Bengaluru, where he was allegedly murdered by associates of the popular Kannada actor and his friend Pavithra Gowda.

One of the videos captures Renukaswamy being brought in an autorickshaw. He is seen getting into an Etios car which allegedly belongs to the murder accused and Darshan’s aide Raghavendra – who was reportedly tasked to bring the 34-year-old pharmacy worker to Bengaluru where he was tortured to death.

Another footage shows the Etios leaving the spot with Renukaswamy in it. CCTV footage reveals Renukaswamy’s journey from Chitradurga to Bengaluru via Hiriyuru toll, with the Etios car seen returning to Chitradurga afterwards. The video footage could prove crucial for establishing the timeline of Renukaswamy’s murder.

Besides this, another video from a pharmacy store, where Renukaswamy used to work, has also emerged online. The footage shows a man, believed to be Renukaswamy, chatting with someone inside the car and then getting into the vehicle.

Renuka Swamy was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He used to reportedly work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. Previously, police officials claimed that Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Kannada actress Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan. Reportedly, eight of the accused have implicated Darshan, claiming his presence during Renuka Swamy’s assault.

15 people have been arrested in the case so far including Darshan and his close actress-friend Pavithra. On Thursday afternoon, Darshan’s co-star Pradosh and close aide Nagaraj were also arrested. Police sources claim that Nagaraj was looking after all the dealings of Darshan. He was reportedly also looking after Darshan’s farmhouse in Mysuru and was on the run ever since police arrested the actor earlier this week. Meanwhile, details about Pradosh’s connection to the murder case are not known as of now.
