Smart vision glasses were given to visually impaired students in BHU. The cost of one glass is 48 thousand rupees. It was distributed in the education faculty of BHU by the National Association for the Visually Handicapped, Mumbai. Faculty head Professor Anjali Vajpayee explained the importance of technology.

Gopal Krishna Agarwal informed the students about the usage and maintenance of the equipment. NAB India’s General Secretary Dr. Vimal Kumar encouraged all the beneficiaries. He also talked about signing an MOU with the Faculty of Education so that visually impaired students of Varanasi and its surrounding areas can be helped in becoming technically capable.

The beneficiaries of the program were research scholars of Banaras Hindu University, visually impaired students of B.Ed and M.Ed. Dr. Yogendra Pandey said that this device is very useful for the visually impaired. With its help, students can read the book by putting it on their glasses. These glasses can recognize objects at a distance and speak their names. This device connects online to a very large library, through which visually impaired people can search the contents of books by speaking and read them by listening to them through audio. Therefore, this device can bring revolution in the lives of visually impaired people in the coming times.
