A unique initiative has been started to save mute animals and birds from extreme heat, to provide drinking water, water conservation and to improve ground water level. Balrampur DM Arvind Singh on Saturday inaugurated the digging of canals with a formal puja in village panchayat Jigna under development block Shri Duttganj and village panchayat Imilia Banghusra under development block Uttaraula.

It will be very useful for irrigation
DM Balrampur said that on one hand this great campaign will provide drinking water to the mute animals in the scorching heat, on the other hand, the water of the canals which is wasted will be used to fill the ponds through canals. This water will not only be used for irrigation but will also prove to be very useful in water conservation. During floods, the water of these canals and reservoirs will also prove to be very effective in flood control through canals. People will get 100 days of employment in the village itself. During this, Chief Development Officer Sanjeev Maurya, DC MNREGA Satish Pandey, PD DRDA CP Srivastava, BDO Shriduttganj Sanjay Kumar Verma, concerned Lekhpal, Village Secretary, Village Head and all the people of the village were present.
