In village Kathmorwa of Kurthiya outpost area of Khesraha police station of Siddharthnagar, someone attacked a 65-year-old woman sleeping in the verandah of her house with a sharp weapon and killed her. The incident happened late Saturday night. The woman’s name is Anar Kali, wife of Harilal.

Her husband died eight years ago. The deceased’s elder son lives in Mumbai with his family and the younger son had gone to visit relatives. Anarkali was alone in the house. When she was attacked, she screamed loudly. When neighbour Mahendra heard her voice and reached her, the attackers had fled. Her body was soaked in blood. There were marks of wounds on many places on the woman’s body. The police took the body in their custody and after getting the Panchnama done, sent it for postmortem.
Khesraha police station in-charge Ravindra Singh reached the spot at night and informed the senior officials. In the morning, SP Prachi Singh and ASP Siddharth reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. The forensic team has reached the spot and is investigating. The SP gave necessary instructions to the in-charge inspector Khesraha to solve the case.
After finding the woman’s body, SP Prachi Singh also reached the spot.
SP said – murder was committed
SP Prachi Singh said that information was received that there is an old woman. She has been murdered. Police from the police station reached there immediately and I also inspected the crime scene. Prima facie it looks like murder. She has a young son who lives with her. A written complaint is being made from him. A case will be registered on the basis of that. Further legal action is underway in this matter.
The SP interrogated the people of the village and the family.
