Farrukhabad: Household goods and ration were burnt to ashes due to a fire while cooking on the stove. The fire was brought under control after about an hour of hard work by the neighbours who poured water on the fire using a submersible and breaking the wall to pour water.

Sunita Rajput, a resident of Bangshapura Kohna in Farrukhabad Kotwali area, supports her family by working as a labourer. On Monday, she was cooking food on the stove at home. During this, a spark from the stove ignited and caught fire. In a short time, the fire took a monstrous form and the items kept in the room also caught fire. Due to which strong flames and clouds of smoke started coming out.

Sunita somehow came out of the house. Neighbor Mohammad Faisal informed the fire brigade. The control room informed Farrukhabad police station. In a short while, Ghodha Nakhas Chowki Incharge Rahul Kumar and Farrukhabad Kotwal Jaiprakash Sharma reached the spot. Neighbors Yash Kumar, Mohammad Faisal, Bhole etc. tried to extinguish the fire by turning on their submersible.

Due to the intensity of the fire, water could not be supplied from the front. After which the wall was broken and water was sprayed on the fire. After about an hour of hard work, the fire was brought under control.

There is a possibility of loss of more than 1 lakh rupees
Victim Sunita said that 4 quintals of wheat, ₹10000 cash, clothes, quilts, mattresses, four chairs, cooler, fan, jewellery etc. have been burnt to ashes. There is a possibility of loss of more than 1 lakh rupees. On receiving the information, MP’s son Amit Rajput also reached the spot and called the regional lekhpal and assured to get compensation after assessing the loss.
