The 38th match of the T20 World Cup saw the second score of this season above 200. Sri Lanka batted brilliantly against the Netherlands and gave a target of 202.

Netherlands were all out for 118 runs in front of Sri Lanka’s bowling. Sri Lanka achieved its first and last victory of the World Cup by 83 runs. This was Sri Lanka’s second biggest victory in the T20 World Cup.

Sri Lanka came to bat first in the match. Viv Kingma came to bowl the first over from the Netherlands side. On the second ball of the over, Kingma bowled a fuller length ball outside off to Pathum Nissanka. On this ball, Nissanka tried to play a shot on the off side. The ball hit the edge of his bat and went towards third man. Engelbrecht, who was fielding there, came running and took a brilliant catch by diving.

2. Aslanka hits the ball to the roof of the stadium
Sri Lankan batsman Charith Aslanka batted brilliantly. Bas de Leede bowled the 16th over for Netherlands. On the fourth ball of the over, de Leede bowled a short ball. Aslanka had already read it. Using his intelligence, he threw the ball back inside the boundary with one hand. Englebrecht saved five runs for his team.

5. Pathirana bowled Aryan
Sri Lankan pacer Mathisha Pathirana clean bowled Aryan Dutt. On the first ball of the 15th over, Pathirana bowled a length ball on the off stump. Dutt was ready for the leg side. He thought the ball would come towards the leg side. He had already taken a position on the leg side during the run-up, Pathirana showed cleverness and targeted the ball straight on the off stump. Aryan was clean bowled.
