The Mayor and Municipal Commissioner got the encroachments on the drains demolished so that the drains could be cleaned properly.
Cleaning work is being affected due to encroachment on the drain. On Tuesday, the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner got the encroachments removed in front of them at seven such places behind the Baradevi temple.

Along with this, people who had encroached upon drains and sewers were warned. Similarly, action was taken against illegal construction and encroachers in Panki Kalyanpur Road, New Sabzi Mandi Rooma.
The Mayor and the Municipal Commissioner themselves identified the encroachments on the drain.
The mayor expressed his displeasure
Mayor Pramila Pandey and Municipal Commissioner Shivsharanappa GN inspected the drain cleaning and encroachment near the northern gate behind the Baradevi temple under Zone-3 on Tuesday. The mayor got angry after seeing the encroachment on the big drain and got the encroachment demolished on the spot.
The mayor and the city commissioner got it removed in their presence
The engineering and health department of the Municipal Corporation is cleaning the big and small drains in the city on a war footing. Under this, the Mayor and the Municipal Commissioner themselves got the obstruction on the drain removed in their presence. The encroachment on the drain at 7 places from behind the Baradevi temple to the northern gate was demolished in front of them with the help of JCB.
Destroyed by running a campaign
Similarly, under Zone-2, under the leadership of Zonal Officer Aniruddh Singh and Zonal Engineer Diwakar Bhaskar, all the temporary encroachments and huts, tin sheds and dhabas etc. were demolished in front of JM Palace in the new vegetable market, Rooma, by running a special campaign.
The Municipal Corporation demolished encroachments on drains across the city.
The enforcement team itself demolished the encroachment
Vaidhi Banquet Hall on Panki Kalyanpur Road under Zone-6 was asked several times to demolish the encroachment on the drain itself. But no action was taken by the manager, on which today Santosh Vishwakarma, Assistant Engineer, demolished the slab above the drain with the help of the enforcement team.
Remove encroachment yourself
The Mayor appealed that the building owner should remove the encroachments on the drains, whether permanent or temporary. The Municipal Corporation will remove it using its own resources, the entire cost of which will also be recovered from the building owner.
Chief Engineer Manish Awasthi, Zonal Engineer Nanak Chandra, Zonal Sanitation Officer Ashish Bajpai were present in the campaign.
