In Agra, even the buffalo received as dowry could not save the married woman’s home. The in-laws harassed the married woman. Kept her hungry and thirsty in a room for several days. They demanded dowry. Tried to kill her when a daughter was born. A case was registered in the women’s police station on the woman’s complaint.

In August 2023, the woman was thrown out of the house. The woman stayed at her maternal home for 7 months. When she went home after the death of her maternal aunt, she was again beaten up for demanding three lakh rupees in dowry. The woman alleges that she complained at the police station. She also sent a complaint to the Police Commissioner by post. But no hearing took place. The woman appealed to the court. On the order of the court, a case has been registered against 5 people including husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law in the women’s police station.
