On the occasion of Kisan Diwas in Ballia, farmers apprised the District Magistrate about the problems related to agriculture. DM Ravindra Kumar directed the concerned officials to solve the problems immediately.

During this time, farmer Akhilesh Singh and other farmers raised the issue of not opening the purchase center for lentils and gram till now and said that many farmers of the district have not been able to sell their crops. The District Magistrate spoke to the MD of PCF on the phone and directed the concerned officer to open the purchase center in the next three-four days.

A matter was raised by the farmers that many farmers have their homes in town areas but they do farming in rural areas. Due to which they are unable to avail the benefit of free tubewell subsidy. The District Magistrate assured to take positive initiative at the government level.
DM heard everyone’s problems
Farmer Brahmanand Tiwari said that his wheat crop was destroyed due to rain, a survey was also conducted by the Agriculture Insurance Company. But the benefit of the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme has not been received yet. On this, the District Magistrate directed the agent of the Agriculture Insurance Company to submit a report to the Chief Development Officer on all the survey records conducted in the district so far and how many farmers were benefited from this scheme.
DM asked to solve the problems of the farmers.
A farmer told that due to water accumulation in Dahatal on Maniyar Bansdih road, nearby farmers suffer loss of crops of 500 to 1000 hectares in one season. If the irrigation department transfers its water to Ghaghra by installing water lifting, then the farmers will benefit. The District Magistrate directed the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department to resolve the problem of the farmers by taking action at his level and government level.
The District Magistrate instructed the officers present there that whatever problems the farmers had raised during the meeting, they should be resolved before the next meeting. On this occasion, Chief Development Officer Ojaswi Raj, Deputy Director Agriculture Manish Singh, District Agriculture Officer Pawan Kumar Prajapati along with other concerned officers and farmers of the district were present.
