The exam was conducted in pen-paper mode
This exam was held on 18 June in OMR i.e. pen-paper mode. This time the exam for 83 subjects of UGC NET was conducted in two shifts on the same day. The first shift was from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the second shift was from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Earlier, the UGC NET exam was an online CBT i.e. computer based test. This change was made so that exams for all subjects and at all centres could be conducted on the same day. Also, exams could be conducted at far-flung centres as well.

20 thousand students filed a petition regarding irregularities in the examination
About 20 thousand students had filed petitions in different states regarding NEET UG 2024 across the country, in which complaints of irregularities in the examination have been made. In the petition filed against grace marks, it was said that NTA has not yet told what method they adopted to give grace marks to the students. At the same time, the provision of giving grace marks was also not mentioned in the information bulletin issued by NTA before the exam.
