Hearing on NEET in Supreme Court today: Court had refused CBI investigation; Re-examination of 1563 candidates on 23 June

Today, the vacation bench is going to hear the case regarding paper leak in NEET exam, grace marks given to 1563 candidates and irregularities at the exam centre.
Supreme Court rejected the demand for CBI investigation
During a hearing on the NEET case on June 19, the vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta refused to stay the NEET counseling. The bench rejected the demand for a CBI inquiry in the case and said that we cannot order a CBI inquiry without hearing all the parties.
9 students had filed a petition after the examination
The first hearing in the NEET case was held by the Supreme Court on June 10. The Supreme Court refused to ban NEET counseling. This petition was filed by student Shivangi Mishra and 9 other students on June 1 before the declaration of the result. In this, a complaint was made about the irregularities caused due to distribution of wrong question papers at the exam centers of Bihar and Rajasthan and a demand was made to cancel the exam and conduct an SIT investigation.
The Supreme Court bench issued a notice to the exam conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA), saying that the credibility of NEET UG has been affected. We want an answer to this.
The next hearing will be on July 8. The vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah heard the case. Now the next hearing of this case will be on July 8.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the exam will be made zero error.
On the NEET exam controversy, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, ‘There will be no compromise with the NEET exam. The exam will be made zero error.’ A high level committee will be formed for NTA, which will recommend ways to improve it further.
The Education Minister said, ‘The government will form a committee comprising technocrats, scientists, academicians, psychologists and people from the background. It will be notified soon. This committee will work to further improve the structure, functioning, exam process, transparency, transfer and data, security protocol of NTA.’
NTA has released the NEET re-exam admit card
NTA has also released the admit card for NEET UG re-exam. Re-exam will be conducted on 23 June for 1563 candidates who got grace marks in NEET result. The result of this exam will be released by 30 June.
Investigation into the irregularities in NEET in Bihar
Joint Secretary of Education Ministry, Govind Jaiswal had talked about the irregularities in NEET exam. He said that there was a controversy over grace marks. Apart from this, there were allegations of irregularities in the exam in Patna and Gujarat. These three are different types of issues. He also said that the problem of grace marks has been solved. EOU is investigating the irregularities in the exam in Bihar.
NTA also cancelled UGC NET
The UGC NET exam was cancelled late night on 19 June due to suspicion of paper leak. The Education Ministry had issued a press release informing about this. Actually, the UGC exam was held two days ago, i.e. on 18 June.
Students and members of the National Student Union of India (NUSI) demonstrated outside the Education Minister’s house today in protest against the cancellation of UGC exams. The police have taken the protesters into custody.
