In Lakhimpur Kheri, a couple jumped into the Ghaghra river. After a lot of hard work, divers recovered the body of the boy, while the girl went missing in the water. Her search is on. The girl’s dupatta has been recovered. The incident is from Dhakherwa village.

Abhishek Awasthi, son of Saroj Awasthi, a resident of Dhakherwa village of Padhua police station area, was having an affair with Pooja Bhargava, daughter of Bharat Bhargava, a neighbour. On Wednesday morning, Abhishek fled from the village with Pooja on his bike.
On the second day, Thursday afternoon, his body was recovered from the river near Thokar Dam near Ghaghra Barrage under Sujauli police station of Bahraich district. It is said that the fishermen who were searching at a short distance from the place where Abhishek’s body was recovered also found the girl Pooja’s dupatta and the bike was also recovered from the spot. A box of laddu prasad was found in the bike’s trunk.

There was a discussion in the village after seeing both of them together
The family is speculating that after the boy and girl disappeared from home, they first went to Hanuman temple in Sharda Nagar. Where both of them offered prasad and reached Ghaghra barrage on Bahraich road via Dhakherwa. After the uproar in the village, both of them committed suicide by jumping into Ghaghra river. The search for the girl’s body is going on by the fishermen in the river.
The girl’s father Bharat Bhargav had lodged a complaint in Padhua police station on Thursday and filed an NCR against Abhishek that Abhishek had abducted his daughter by luring her. After this, the policemen and the families of both of them started searching for her.
On Thursday afternoon, some people saw the body of a young man floating in the river Ghaghra in Sujauli police station area of Bahraich district, some distance away from Ghaghra barrage and informed the police. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot. And after identifying the body, informed the family members.
As soon as the girl’s family got the information, they reached the spot and started wailing.
