On Friday, the railway police had an encounter with the gang that robbed the train in Aligarh. The accused had robbed the train in Aligarh on May 7. The accused opened fire on the RPF and GRP team. In retaliation, the GRP also opened fire, in which both the accused received bullet wounds in their legs.

After both of them were injured, the police admitted them to Malkhan Singh District Hospital for treatment. After which they are being presented in the court and sent to jail. Both the accused are associated with an inter-state gang that robs trains and cases have been registered against them in GRP in many states. The police was looking for them for a long time.
The train was looted in Aligarh on May 7
On May 7, the Anand Vihar to Patna clone express train was stopped by signal failure near Aligarh’s Daud Khan railway station. After which the accused boarded the train, looted and fled from the spot. Since then, RPF and GRP were continuously searching for them.
On Friday, RPF received information that both the masterminds of the incident were seen near Dawood Khan station. After which RPF SI Amit Chaudhary reached the spot with his team. GRP team also reached with them. Then they saw two suspects. When the team tried to question them, the accused opened fire.
Both the accused are residents of Bulandshahr, there was a reward of Rs 25,000 each on them.
They used to signal with coins, there was a reward of 25-25 thousand
RPF Inspector Rajiv Verma said that the accused are clever criminals. They used to fail the signal by placing coins on the railway track. Due to which the train would stop, after which they would enter the train and rob. They did the same on 7 May as well.
After the incident, 7 of his associates were already caught. But the main mastermind was absconding. There was a reward of 25 thousand rupees on both of them. Teams were continuously searching for them. On Friday, when information about them was received, the team went to catch them, but they started firing at the team. After which the police retaliated.
The accused are from Bulandshahr, fired 4 rounds
Both the criminals with a reward of Rs. 25,000 each are residents of Bulandshahr. The mastermind of the gang is Pintu alias Yogendra son of Khem Singh, who is a resident of Bajhera of Jahangirabad police station in Bulandshahr. The second accused is Lavkush son of Chandrapal, a resident of Bulandshahr.
Both the accused fired 4 rounds on the police team from their pistols. After which the police team also fired several rounds in self-defense. After which both of them got shot in their legs. A 312 bore pistol and two empty shells each were recovered from both the accused. Along with this, 550 rupees and a Gilet coin were recovered.
Pintu used to form a gang wherever he went
The criminal Pintu who was injured by the police bullet is the mastermind of train robbery. He is also an expert in failing train signals by placing coins. There are 14 named cases registered against him including a history sheet. Apart from Aligarh, he has also committed several incidents of train robbery in Rampur, Ghaziabad, Jahangirabad and Gujarat.
Officials said that wherever the accused goes, he forms a team of local criminals and commits crimes. He had gone to jail in 2016 as well, after which he has been caught now. Gujarat police also came to Aligarh to arrest him, but they were unsuccessful. Now the accused can be caught.
The accused were planning to commit the incident again
After committing the incident in Daud Khan on May 7, the accused were trying to rob a train again. That is why they came to Aligarh early Friday morning and were roaming around Daud Khan station. Then the patrolling RPF got the information. After which they also called GRP to the spot and after an encounter with the accused, they were caught.
Inspector GRP Jitendra Singh said that in the joint operation of RPF-GRP, GRP’s SSI Anil Kumar, SI Vipin Kumar, Amit Kumar were involved with him. RPF’s SI Amit Chaudhary, ASI Omveer Singh, Head Constable Narendra Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Ashok were also involved.
