Yoga Day was celebrated in Lakhimpur.
On Friday, a grand program of “Tenth International Yoga Day 2024” was organized in Kheri on the theme “Yoga for self and society” with enthusiasm, gaiety and excitement. A large number of people participated in the Agricultural Production Market Committee at the district headquarters.

Programmes were also organised on Yoga Day in tehsil, block and various government and private institutions. The entire programme was successfully organised by regional Ayurvedic and Unani officer Dr Harvansh Kumar.
The program organized under the joint aegis of the district administration and the AYUSH department was inaugurated by State Minister Independent Charge Transport Department Dayashankar Singh, District Nodal Officer Director General (Medical Education) Kinjal Singh, MLA Srinagar Manju Tyagi, DM Mahendra Bahadur Singh, SP Ganesh Prasad Saha, Aakanksha Committee President Alpana Singh, CDO Anil Kumar Singh by lighting the lamp. The program was conducted by social worker Ram Mohan Gupta.
The Transport Minister along with the Nodal Officer, MLA, DM-SP awarded the winners of various competitions related to yoga activities. All the people took a pledge to abstain from tobacco and its other products. This was an occasion when public representatives, officials from across the district and common citizens practiced yoga together.

Yoga instructors conducted yoga practice
In this, the skilled yoga instructor of the district Kuldeep Verma, after the group prayer, made the participants practice yoga with the common yoga protocol and took a pledge to do yoga every day. The program concluded after Shanti Paath. Yoga instructors Amit Kumar and Prince Ranjan made the participants practice these yogasanas and pranayama.
Transport Minister said – participate with enthusiasm
Transport Department Dayashankar Singh said that today we are celebrating the tenth edition of International Yoga Day with full enthusiasm and gaiety. In Lakhimpur district, all of us participated in this Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. Today, crores of people across the world are doing yoga together on the theme ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Yoga keeps the body and mind healthy, so its regular practice is necessary.

Nodal officer gave best wishes
Nodal Officer Director General (Medical Education) Kinjal Singh while wishing all the residents of the district on “International Yoga Day” said that we have to remain fit in body and mind. Therefore, yoga must be done. She said that yoga keeps the body and mind healthy. Everyone should make yoga a part of their life and include it in their daily routine. Yoga gives overall inspiration to physical and mental health.
Yoga is necessary to stay healthy- DM
DM Mahendra Bahadur Singh said that yoga is necessary to stay healthy and fit. He appealed to adopt yoga in one’s daily life. With regular yoga practice, qualities like courage, compassion, kindness, patience automatically come in a person, which provides the power of self-control. In the end, CDO Anil Kumar Singh, while explaining the need and relevance of the program, expressed gratitude to the nodal minister, nodal officer and all the sadhaks who participated in yoga.
