YouTube Music To Launch ‘Ask For Music’ AI Chatbot Feature: Know More – News18

The latest AI feature will make searching for music easier than ever

YouTube Music wants to make it easier to search for any music and it is also using AI tech to make that happen for its paid subscribers.

YouTube Music is reportedly gearing up to introduce a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature, according to reports this week. The upcoming feature will enable users to search for music using verbal prompts and voice commands. Users will have the ability to describe music videos or request music similar to a specific song or artist. The AI feature, expected to replace the current voice search function on the Google app, was discovered in the YouTube Music app for Android version 7.06.53, as detailed by Android Authority.

The sources further indicate that this feature is still in the experimental phase. Meanwhile, the disclaimer in the code states, “AI-generated responses are experimental. Quality and accuracy may vary. Please don’t enter confidential or personal information regarding yourself or others.”

Currently, YouTube Music needs users to manually input specific songs or artists for track searches. However, the new “Ask for Music” feature represents a significant advancement by allowing users to use language commands to convey their requests. Initially, a select group of Android device users will have access to this experimental feature, with wider availability expected in the near future for the general public.

Interestingly, YouTube Music has also introduced the ability to “Hum to Search” for a song. This innovative feature allows users to search for any song by simply humming, singing or whistling a melody. This feature will eliminate the need to write precise lyrics for the track. The feature is very useful for users to discover songs they have heard but may not remember the exact title or artist.

The company even lets users create playlist covers generated by AI. On the other hand, YouTube Music is also working on a new app launch animation, similar to the official YouTube app.

While the Ask for Music feature has not been officially announced, we’re hoping to see more details from the platform in the coming months about its release and availability to the premium subscribers.
