As per a report in Pakistan media, Babar Azam is considering taking legal action against those who accused him of ‘misconduct’ during T20 World Cup.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam is reportedly considering taking legal action against YouTubers and former cricketers for accusing him of ‘misconduct’ during the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup.
As per a report in Geo News, citing sources close to Babar, a social media campaign targeted the 29-year-old during the ICC event.

Babar is now looking to send legal notices to those involved in the alleged defamatory campaign against him.
The Pakistan cricketer has consulted legal experts in this regard, as per the report. Evidences regarding the alleged derogatory statements made against him is said to be gathered by the legal department of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Babar and co have faced the wrath of former Pakistan players and fans following the team’s early exit from the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan began the tournament with a shocking defeat against USA at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
Pakistan then lost their second consecutive game to India by six runs, enduring another dent in their quest for T20 glory.
Pakistan were eventually knocked out of the tournament after the USA vs Ireland fixture was called off due to rain. A no-result led to the Americans earning a crucial point for qualification into the Super 8.
Right after Pakistan’s tournament exit, Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi also voiced his disappointment on his YouTube channel.
The former Pakistan allrounder suggested that Babar should have backed his teammate Shaheen Afridi amid the captaincy change.
“If the move regarding Shaheen’s captaincy had been made and the PCB stated that he would remain the captain till the T20 World Cup, then I think Babar should have supported Shaheen and should have said that ‘no, if you have made him (Shaheen) the captain, then we are ready to play under his captaincy’,” Afridi had said.
Following Pakistan’s surprise early exit from the ICC event, a report by The Express Tribune claimed Babar and five other Pakistan players would be spending their holidays in London before returning home.
The other names include Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan and Azam Khan. The report further stated that the team’s head coach Gary Kirsten and Assistant Coach Azhar Mahmood would travel to their respective home countries.
The decision was made by the PCB due to no immediate engagements on the horizon. Pakistan are next scheduled to compete in a white-ball series against Australia in November this year.
