1. Many agreements were signed between India and Bangladesh: On June 22, during the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India, several agreements were signed between the two countries. Under this, e-medical visa facility will be started in the country for Bangladeshi citizens coming to India for treatment.
Agreements were reached between the two countries during the meeting at Hyderabad House in Delhi.
- Along with this, a new embassy will be opened in Rangpur, Bangladesh for the people of the north-western region of India.
- The two countries also agreed to enhance railway connectivity.
- An agreement was also signed to promote the maritime sector and blue economy.
- India and Bangladesh finalise Joint Vision Document for Green Partnership.

2. Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala became Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly: On June 22, senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala took charge as the Assembly Speaker. He had filed his nomination for the Speaker’s post to Assembly Secretary General PPK Ramacharyulu on June 21.
Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala has been unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Assembly.
- Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala has become the third Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
- G Buchaiah Chowdhary served as the pro tem speaker during the session.
- Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala was elected MLA 6 times from TDP party.
- He also became MP from Anakapalle constituency during 1996-98.
- He has served as a Cabinet Minister in the Andhra Pradesh Government from 2014-19.
- Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala was born on 4 September 1957 in Narsipatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

3. Amit Shah inaugurated FTI-TTP: On June 22, New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport became the first airport in the country to launch the Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveler Program (FTI-TTP). Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the FTI-TTP at the airport.
FTI-TTP is a visionary initiative of the Central Government.
- FTI-TTP will facilitate travel for Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
- Through this, travelling has become faster, easier and safer for the travellers.
- The advantage of the FTI-TTP card will be that passengers going for immigration will not need to stand in the general queue from the outer gate of the airport till boarding.
- Candidates eligible for FTI-TTP must apply online.
- For this card, one has to apply on the website of the Home Ministry.
- After this, passport etc. will be verified by the Bureau of Immigration.
- After verification, the cards will be issued after biometric verification at the designated counter at the Delhi airport.

4. Armenia recognised Palestine: On June 21, the Armenian Foreign Ministry officially announced its recognition of the State of Palestine. The decision was opposed by the Israeli government.
Armenia has become the latest country to recognise Palestine during the war in Gaza.
- Armenia is a mountainous country located in the Caucasus region of Western Asia and Europe.
- Before Armenia, Spain, Ireland and Norway recognised Palestine.
- Because of this, Israel recalled its ambassadors from Madrid, Dublin and Oslo.
- Palestine has been recognized by more than 145 countries of the world.
- On 7 October 2023, Israel launched brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas attacks.
- More than 35 thousand Palestinians have been killed in this war so far.

5. UAE becomes India’s 9th largest seafood exporter: On June 21, D V Swamy, chairman of the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) of India, said that the UAE has become the ninth largest seafood exporter to India. The UAE has purchased 1.78 million metric tonnes of seafood from India.
India became the largest seafood exporting country in the world during the financial year 2023-24.
- During this period, India exported 1.78 million metric tons of seafood worth $7.38 billion.
- India exported the most frozen shrimp.
- Total export of frozen shrimp to the Middle East stood at 28,571 metric tonnes.
- India’s merchandise and services exports grew by 6% over the previous fiscal year.
- India’s financial year begins on 1 April every year and ends on 31 March.

History of 22 June: On this day in 1633, the Roman Catholic Church sentenced Galileo for being a heretic. He was put under house arrest for life. Galileo had said that the earth revolves around the sun. Whereas at that time the church and religious scriptures believed that the sun revolves around the earth. Due to this discovery, he was accused of being a heretic and was punished.
Galileo died in house arrest on January 8, 1642.
