District Program Officer Rajiv Singh of Child Development and Nutrition Department in Sonbhadra has been suspended by the government. He has been accused of extorting money from subordinates, promoting corruption, mental and physical harassment of female employees during his posting in Fatehpur.

The action taken at the government level has created a stir. When the information about the suspension became public in the district on Friday evening, various kinds of discussions started. The government has attached him to the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, Vindhyachal. The Additional Director of Finance of the department has been nominated for a detailed investigation of the allegations.
This is the whole matter
An investigation was going on against District Program Officer Rajeev from the time of his posting in Fatehpur. Rajeev Singh was posted in Sonbhadra about one and a half years ago. Complaints were made to the government about his work from both the districts.
In the suspension order issued by Joint Secretary, Child Development and Nutrition Department, Ashok Kumar Tiwari, it is said that Rajiv Singh does not establish any kind of coordination with other departments.
This is not only affecting the progress of child development but also that of other departments, especially the health department. They have also been accused of working arbitrarily by ignoring the guidelines given by public representatives and senior officials.

Taking the complaints seriously, the government, after the approval of the Governor, suspended the District Program Officer Rajiv Singh with immediate effect and nominated the Additional Director (Finance) of the Department of Child Development and Nutrition, Lucknow as the investigating officer.
During the suspension period, he will be entitled to the amount of subsistence allowance, but for this he will have to give a certificate that he is not earning income from any other source. In a letter issued by Joint Secretary Ashok Kumar Tiwari, he has been attached to the Commissioner’s Office of Vindhyachal Division till the completion of the investigation.
