In fact, Nagal improved his ranking after winning the ATP Challenger title in Hebron, Germany on Sunday and he jumped 18 places from 95th to his career best ranking of 77th. At the same time, the withdrawal of many big players of the world from the Olympic Games made the path of Olympic quota easier for Nagal. He got the last position among the players eligible for quota through ranking and qualified for the Olympic Games to be held in Paris from 26 July to 11 August.

France had one quota place reserved as the host nation, in case any of their players could not secure a direct berth in the Olympics through ranking. France secured all four quotas for the men’s event through their rankings, so the host nation’s quota was added back to the pool and the cut-off increased from 56 to 57 players. Due to which Nagal was able to qualify.

64-64 players will participate in men’s and women’s singles
64 players each will participate in men’s and women’s singles at Paris 2024. According to the ATP rankings released on June 10, the top 56 players in men’s singles got quotas. At the same time, each country can get a maximum of four quotas.

Bopanna secured the quota by being ranked fourth in the world rankings
Bopanna secured the Olympic quota by finishing fourth in the world rankings. He had been in the top-10 in doubles since November last year. Bopanna will play doubles with N Sriram Balaji in Paris. Being a top-10 player, Bopanna had the option of choosing his partner. The AITA approved his choice and paired him with Balaji.

32 teams will participate in men’s and women’s doubles, in which there will be two teams from each country. Top 10 players in the world ranking get quota for this event. If they have a partner from the top 300 of the world ranking. Ropna chose Sriram Balaji as his partner. Sriram Balaji’s world ranking is 67.

The 2024 season has been good for Nagal
This year was good for Nagal.
