Tarot Reader, Tejaswi Desai, shared an Instagram video asking her followers to “stop making paneer at home”.

In Indian households, making paneer is a common practice. Now a tarot reader has claimed that homemade paneer can be a source of “emotional imbalance”. Dr Tejaswi Desai who is a self-proclaimed Tarot & Akashic Reader, Reiki master, Lamafera Grandmaster and Numerologist, recently shared an Instagram video asking her followers to “stop making paneer at home.” She explained, “Milk represents moon, which is a planet for emotions. When you curdle the milk by adding lemon or any sour component then you weaken your moon. Which indirectly causes anxiety, stress, emotional imbalance, and depression. It can also lead to fights at home.”

This clip has irked rationalists and fitness experts who argue that paneer is a rich source of protein and it’s economically viable to make it at home rather than buying a pre-packed version. Chirag Barjatya, a popular fitness coach shared the above-mentioned video on X and wrote, “Another source of protein in drain! Don’t make paneer at home.”

This post prompted many to criticise Dr Tejaswi Desai for spreading superstitious beliefs. Poking fun at her reasoning, an X user wrote, “Don’t make milkshakes at home, it might cause tidal waves leading to tsunami.”

Someone else wrote, “So by this logic, there are 24×7 fights happening in Amul Dairy Plants?”

An X user wrote, “I will definitely get anxiety and depression if I keep on buying Rs. 150 ka 200 gms paneer every day instead of making it with Rs. 58 ka milk at home”

A self-proclaimed doctor reshared this video and wrote, “It’s NOT a defect in neurotransmitters/stress hormones/wiring defects/Hormonal imbalances etc which cause mental illness, it is the lemon which when squeezed into milk causes mental illnesses. All hail India’s future.”

An X user urged people to block and report such videos.

Despite making such misleading videos, Dr Tejaswi Desai has over 72,000 Instagram followers. Her content consists of offering “home remedies” for problems such as “remove third party influence in marriage or relationship”, “protection against evil eye”, and more.

She also takes paid tarot lessons with prices reaching up to Rs 3,000 for a 20-minute video call consultation.
