Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court’s stay on the operation of his bail order granted by the trial court in the money laundering case pertaining to the liquor policy scam.
The matter is likely to be mentioned before a vacation bench of the top court on Monday.
The Delhi High Court on Friday granted an interim stay on the trial court’s bail order to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case regarding the alleged liquor policy scam.
“I am reserving the order for two to three days. Till the pronouncement of the order, the operation of the trial court order is stayed,” a vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain said.
The Delhi HC also issued notice to Kejriwal seeking his response to the Enforcement Directorate’s plea challenging the trial court’s June 20 order by which he was granted bail. The court further said it was reserving the order for 2-3 days to review the entire record.
