The colourful mangoes of Barabanki district are making a splash in the market these days. They are beautiful in colour, delicious in food and the most expensive in price. These mangoes grow only in thousands of bigha orchards in the big village Bhayara of Masauli block area of Barabanki district. The mangoes are very popular in India and are sold in many states.

These days Yakuti Gulab Khas Amrapali mango is being sold in large numbers in the markets. This colourful mango is in great demand in the Indian markets. This mango is being sold in the market for 200 to 300 rupees, due to which the farmers doing horticulture in Barabanki are getting good profits. Along with Yakuti mango, Gulab Khas and Husnara mango varieties are also spreading their charm in the markets. Huge crowds are gathering in the mango shops on the roadside in Barabanki.
Profit of 10 to 15 lakhs
With a good crop of mangoes, orchardists easily earn 10 to 15 lakh rupees in a season. Because mango orchards start bearing fruits after five years of planting and give good fruits continuously for many years. By selling these mangoes, orchardists easily get a profit of lakhs of rupees every year in the form of cash crop.

Producing crops in 25 bighas
Mohammad Adil Hasan of Sahelia village in Barabanki has covered his 25 bigha land with a blanket of greenery. Due to his 35 years of hard work, he is cultivating about 35 types of fruits in his orchard including the world famous mangoes like Gulab Khas, Yakuti, Burmasurkha, Khanjri, Dasehri etc. And Adil Hasan is earning about 8 to 10 lakhs every year from this orchard.
In Barabanki district, mango is cultivated in about 16,500 hectares of area and mango remains till July. This time the production has been about 1.5 lakh metric tonnes and mangoes from Barabanki go to big markets like Lucknow, Gonda, Bahraich, Faizabad, Gorakhpur.
