Cyber ​​fraudsters in Lucknow’s Ashiana area defrauded a person of Rs 47 lakh 65 thousand by posing as an officer of Green Gas Limited. The fraudsters made him download an app in the name of updating the bill. They asked him to pay Rs 5. As soon as the payment was made, Rs 47 lakh was withdrawn from the account in two installments.

According to the information, Vishwa Bharti Arya (67), son of late Udham Chandra, resident of Sector-J LDA Kanpur Road, is a retired employee of the government department. There is a pipeline of Green Gas Limited installed in Vishwa Bharti’s house. From which gas is supplied. At around 10 am on Friday, a call came on his registered mobile number.

Which was received by his son Priyansh Bharti. The person calling told his name as Rajesh Mishra and said that he was an officer of Green Gas Limited. He told that the bill of your connection is not updated. To update the bill, you will have to download an app. Priyansh downloaded the app.

After this, he was asked to pay Rs 5. To make payment through the app, he was asked to enter the number 16 of the debit card. While talking, as soon as the number was entered, Rs 20 lakh 73 thousand and Rs 26 lakh 92 thousand were deducted from the account in two installments. After which he came to know about the fraud. Police is investigating the matter.
