Issuance of birth and death certificate stopped | Birth-death certificate is stopped: CRS portal is not working for 10 days, people are returning due to server update – Lucknow News



Birth and death certificates are not being made in all the 8 zones of the Municipal Corporation. Hundreds of people have returned from the Municipal Corporation in the last 10 days. It is being said that the server of the CRS (Civil Registration System) portal for registration of births and deaths in rural and urban areas should be updated.

This is the reason behind this problem. On the other hand, the displeasure of the councillors is increasing in this matter. Every day more than 100 people are returning from the Municipal Corporation.

More than 100 certificates are stuck due to server networking problems. People have to return disappointed after waiting from morning to evening every day. On Monday, when Uma Shrivastava reached the birth and death department of zone one to get her son’s birth certificate made, she was told that the server is not working right now.

Ram Kishore Joshi is upset because his father’s death certificate has not been made. He told that he has to present the certificate at the bank and other places. Many applicants are making rounds to get their children’s birth certificates made. Congress councilor Mukesh Singh Chauhan has lodged a complaint regarding this.

People roaming around the Municipal Corporation

There are many applicants who are making rounds of the Municipal Corporation’s Birth-Death Office to correct the errors in the birth-death certificate. The department employees say that the Census Registrar has updated the CRS portal. Many new features have been included. Due to this, the server is not working right now.

According to the changed rules, now birth certificates abroad can be made here, however, it is necessary that one of the parents should have a permanent address here. The system of scanning QR code in birth-death certificates has been abolished. The code will remain on the certificate but the certificate will not open after scanning it. This will only keep information about the name of the person born and the deceased, the name of the parents and the date. This will prevent misuse of the certificate.

After getting the certificate made, you will have to come to the office to get its copy. Till now the certificate was getting printed from the link. The fee for getting the certificate has also been changed. Now the process will not proceed further without depositing the registration fee.

It is free to get a certificate for 21 days, after that CMO has been authorized. While SDM has been authorized for certificates above one year. After 21 days, a fee of Rs 5 to Rs 100 will have to be paid for late fee, duplicate, amendment etc. Name can be added in the birth certificate only for one year. Apart from this, Aadhaar has been made mandatory for getting the certificate.

A letter was written to the Municipal Commissioner

Congress councilor Mukesh Singh Chauhan has written a letter to the Municipal Commissioner regarding the problem being faced in making birth and death certificates in the entire zone. He said that the process has been stopped for ten days. Due to the stoppage of making birth and death certificates and lack of any information, common citizens are getting upset by visiting the office.
