Zaheer Abbas, a resident of Gomti Nagar, is a Maulana of Warsia Madrasa. He told that on 15th June he received a call from a person named Shabbir Makwana from Mumbai. He appealed to the Maulana to sacrifice 2 animals. On 17th June, on the day of the festival of sacrifice, the Maulana bought 2 animals worth 42 thousand rupees and sacrificed them.

Accused Shabbir Makwana sent a screenshot on Zaheer Abbas’s WhatsApp. In which 56 thousand rupees were shown to have been transferred. He immediately called Maulana and said that we have mistakenly sent you 56 thousand instead of 42. Please return the extra money to us.

Instead of checking the madrasa’s account, Maulana trusted the screenshot and transferred 14 thousand rupees. Later when he checked the account, he found that no money had been credited to the account. The screenshot that was sent was fake.

Maulana tried to contact Shabbir Makwana. His phone was switched off, after waiting for several days, Maulana lodged a complaint with the cyber cell today.
