The last match of the Super-8 of the T20 World Cup was full of excitement. Afghanistan reached the semi-finals of an ICC tournament for the first time by defeating Bangladesh by 8 runs. While on one hand the players of the Afghanistan team had tears of joy in their eyes, on the other hand, the camp of the Bangla Tigers was disappointed.
With this win, Australia’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals were also dashed.

Afghanistan has made it to the knockout stage of the T20 World Cup for the first time. The team defeated Bangladesh by 8 runs by defending a small total of 116 runs. This is the biggest achievement for Afghanistan so far. To reach here, Afghanistan defeated big teams like Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

He also scored 43 runs in this match. However, due to an injury sustained during wicket-keeping, he was celebrating the victory while sitting in the dugout. There he was unable to hold back his tears.

4. Naveen celebrates victory after taking the 10th wicket
Afghanistan’s fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq took the 10th wicket of Bangladesh in 17.5 overs. He dismissed Mustafizur Rahman for a golden duck (0 runs, 1 ball). With this, Afghanistan won the match by 8 runs. After taking the wicket, the whole team along with Naveen celebrated the victory.

1. Gurbaj was injured in the first over of Bangladesh’s innings
Naveen Ul Haque bowled the first over of Bangladesh’s innings. The last ball of the over was a good length ball outside off. Batsman Liton Das missed the drive and the ball went to keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Gurbaz got injured while trying to catch the ball. He suffered a strain below his waist and had to leave the ground. Substitute Mohammad Ishaq kept wicket in the match.

2. Zadran missed the bat
Rishad Hussain bowled the 11th over of Afghanistan’s innings. He bowled slow spin on the third ball to Zadran. Zadran wanted to hit a shot towards extra cover, but he was beaten and the bat slipped from his hand. The bat bounced in the air and fell near the square leg umpire. Zadran was out on 18 runs on the very next ball.
In the 11th over, the bat slipped from Jadran’s hands on the score of 18 runs.
3. Gulbadin Naib fell while standing
Noor Ahmed was bowling the 12th over of Bangladesh’s innings. When he was taking a run up to bowl the fifth ball, Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib, who was fielding at slip, fell down while standing. The umpire had to stop the match and then it started raining and the match was stopped for a while. The score of the Bangladesh team at that time was 81-7.

4. Rashid clean bowled Rishad

6. Gurbaj got a lifeline on the first ball
The first over of Afghanistan’s innings was bowled by Tanzim Hasan Shakib. On the very first ball, Gurbaz played a shot on square leg. Ibrahim Zadran and Gurbaz ran for the first run. Shakib Al Hasan made a direct throw. However, Gurbaz had reached the crease before the ball hit the wicket.
