On one hand people are making rounds of the social welfare department for old age pension and on the other hand pension is being credited to the accounts of deceased elderly. When the social welfare department conducted verification on the instructions of the government, it was found that pension was being credited to the accounts of 2250 dead people.

Notice will be sent to recover the amount
Every quarter Rs. 3000 were being sent to their account. The department has written a letter to the bank to remove the name from the eligible list and freeze the pension account. The department is now preparing to send a notice for the pension deposited in the account.
The truth was revealed during verification by the District Social Welfare Department.
3 thousand rupees are spent every quarter
The government provides old age pension to poor elderly people as financial help. Under this, Rs. 3000 is sent to each beneficiary every three months at the rate of Rs. 1000 per month. There are about 78 thousand old age pension beneficiaries in the ten blocks of the district.
The truth was revealed during verification
After the end of the financial year, on the instructions of the government, the Social Welfare Department conducted a door-to-door survey. This revealed that money was being credited to the accounts of about 2250 beneficiaries across the district even after their death. The department has removed the names of such beneficiaries from the eligible list and has frozen their accounts. The department has written a letter to the bank to withdraw the money from everyone’s account.
Amount will be withdrawn
District Social Welfare Officer Trinetra Singh said that verification of all the beneficiaries of the district has been done. In which many have been found dead. Everyone’s name will be removed from the list and the amount deposited in the account will be taken back.
