Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana dedicates a moving poem to Indian cricket team after their historic win in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 2024.
After Team India’s historic win in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 2024, Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has taken a dig at those who criticised Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh in the recent past. In a video, shared on his official Instagram account, the actor recited a moving poem, written by him, to address Team India’s online haters.
Responding to the trolls, Ayushmann said in Hindi, ‘Semi-finals me Kohli ke muh se nikla tha Ben-Stokes, tab toh alochakon ne laga diye they saare chokes. Aur ye final me dikha diya legend ne apna Virat roop, samjho pyaare yehi hai Jeevan chaaon aur dhoop. Pandya ko bhi pichle do mahine se bahut kuch kaha sunaya, aakhiri over me fir ussi ne toh jalwa dikhaya. Aur moochein ho toh Hardik jaisi ho varna na ho aur bowling figures ho toh Bumrah jaisi ho warna na ho.”
Ayushmann continued, “Iss team ka har khiladi desh ke liye khela hai. Arshdeep se agar catch choote toh usse deshdrohi na kahein, shami kabhi uppar vaale ko pitch par yaad kare toh usse laga lein gale, iss team mein Hindu, Muslim, Sikh sab hain aur yeh sab bhartiye dikhein.. 19 November ka zakham ab tumne bhar diya… (Every player of this team has played for the country. If Arshdeep drops a catch, don’t call him a traitor, if Shami remembers God on the pitch, embrace him. In this team, there are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and all are Indians… You have now healed the wounds of November 19).”
Ayushmann’s video went viral in no time, with fans showering praise on the actor for his beautiful tribute to the Men in Blue. Actor R Madhavan wrote, “So very well put bro… awesome.” One user commented, “Can’t stop listening to this on loop- perfect summary of all our emotions in the most beautiful way possible.”
On June 29, India beat South Africa by seven runs in a dramatic men’s T20 World Cup final, ending a long 13-year wait for the nation since its last World Cup win.
