Three teenagers have died after drowning in the Jamuar river behind the old Naugarh Chowki of Siddharthnagar. The incident happened on Monday afternoon at around three o’clock. The names of the deceased are 13-year-old Rudra son of Vinod, 12-year-old Safi son of Salim and Ayush Pandey son of Anuj Pandey, resident of Mohalla.

It is said that due to heat, all three children went to take bath in Jamuar river at three o’clock in the afternoon. While bathing, they went into deep water. When other children who were bathing around them saw the three drowning, they raised an alarm. By the time people reached the spot after hearing the alarm, all three had drowned in the river. People who reached the spot started searching for them. After a long time, all three were taken out. The people present there took them to the emergency ward of Madhav Prasad Tripathi Medical College. The doctors on duty there declared all three dead. On getting information about the incident, ASP Siddharth also reached the medical college and inquired about the situation.

Hume entered through one end of the pipe but could not get out

At the time of the incident, a large number of children were bathing in the river. Meanwhile, the three teenagers entered the water from one end of a Hume pipe installed in the river and were trying to get out from the other side when they were swept away by the strong current of water and went into the deep water. Old Naugarh Police Station in-charge Anup Kumar Mishra said that the family did not want any legal action. The Panchnama of the dead body has been done and handed over to the family.
