Darshan BREAKS DOWN After Meeting His Mother In Jail Amid Renuka Swamy Murder Probe – News18

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa’s mother Meena, brother Dinakar, wife Vijayalakshmi and son 15-year-old son Vineesh recently visited him at the Central Prison of the Parappana Agrahara on the outskirts of Bengaluru city. Reportedly, the family visited the Kannada actor on Monday (July 1) morning. He is currently being probed in connection to Renuka Swamy’s murder case.

As reported by NDTV, Darshan got emotional upon meeting his family. His mother also broke down. The actor’s brother consoled them both. More details about their meeting are awaited.

Darshan is being probed in connection to the Renuka Swamy murder case. Swamy was found dead in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He used to reportedly work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. It has been alleged that Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Kannada actress Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan. Reportedly, eight of the accused have implicated Darshan, claiming his presence during Renuka Swamy’s assault. The Kannada actor was arrested on June 11.

Last month, Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi issued her first statement after meeting the actor in jail. She talked about her meeting with Darshan and claimed that he had asked his fans to stay calm. “Call for all our Celebrities – You all know how much Darshan loves you. It is sad that we are in this situation today and that we have to stay at a distance from him. I have spoken to him in detail about the situation outside and it has touched his heart. He has urged all his celebrities to stay calm and focus on doing good deeds and he is sure that he will be part of your prayers,” Vijayalakshmi wrote in Kannada.

“We have immense faith in the judicial system of our nation and am sure there will be brighter days ahead. I firmly believe that those attempting to harm Darshan through words/action during his absence will be taken care of by Mother Chamundeshwari. Request your support in these hard times. Your being calm will be our biggest strength. This too shall pass. Truth will Triumph,” she added.

Prior to this, Darshan’s 15-year-old son also penned down a heartbreaking note on Instagram and urged everyone to support his family during this hard time. “Thank you all for all the bad comments and offensive language towards my father and not considering that I am a 15-year-old with feelings, and even during this hard time when my mom and dad required support cursing at me won’t change that you everyone,” he wrote.

Several actors including Telugu star Naga Shaurya, Bigg Boss OTT Kannada fame Sonu Gowda, Rachita Ram and Anusha Rai have also come out in support of Darshan.
