The Champions Trophy 2025 will be played from February 19 to March 9 next year, with March 10 being the reserve day. The ICC has started looking for a window for this.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has scheduled its team’s match against its biggest rival India in the Champions Trophy on March 1 next year in Lahore. However, the BCCI has not yet given its consent for this match. A senior member of the ICC board gave this information to PTI on Wednesday.
This will be the first time since 1996 that Pakistan will host a major ICC tournament, although it did host the entire Asia Cup in 2008 and some matches of the Asia Cup were held in Pakistan last year as well.
PCB chairman finalised the schedule of 15 matches
According to the report, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has presented a 15-match schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025. In which all the matches of India have been kept in Lahore due to security reasons. An ICC board member said, “PCB has presented a draft of the 15-match ICC Champions Trophy. There will be seven matches in Lahore, three in Karachi and five in Rawalpindi. The opening match will be held in Karachi, while the two semi-finals will be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi. Apart from this, the final match will be played in Lahore. All Indian matches including the semi-finals (if the team qualifies) will be held in Lahore.”

Eight teams in two groups
India has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. Group B comprises Australia, South Africa, England and Afghanistan. Recently, ICC’s event chief Chris Tetley met PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad when the security team inspected the venues and other arrangements.
India beat Pakistan in T20 World Cup
In the T20 World Cup, India did not let Pakistan chase the target of 120 runs. Pakistan’s team could only score 113 runs for 7 wickets.
