Rajkumar Kushwaha, a resident of village Badgana of Thana Narahat, had given an application to the in-charge of Jhansi Anti Corruption Team. In this, he had told that he does farming and due to his land going into the submergence area, a lease was made in the name of his brother Pappu on settlement number 224 for livelihood, which had expired.

Meanwhile, his brother died in the year 2021. After the death of his brother, he married his brother’s wife Ramvati and got the papers from District Officer Shahzad Ali in Irrigation Department Section III to transfer and renew the lease of the land in the name of his wife Ramvati.

A bribe of 5 thousand rupees was demanded by the district officer for renewal of the land lease. He did not want to give bribe to the district officer, rather he wanted to get him caught while taking bribe. After this, he complained to the anti-corruption team. A team was formed under the leadership of Inspector-in-Charge Umashankar Yadav to catch the district officer. On Wednesday, July 3, Rajkumar Kushwaha reached the irrigation department office. Here he gave a bribe of 5 thousand rupees to district officer Shahzad Ali.

Shahzad Ali asked to give that money to Rakesh Raikwar who was standing in the office, so he gave this money to Rakesh Raikwar son of Jamuna resident of village Imliya. Then the anti-corruption team arrested Rakesh along with district officer Shahzad Ali and brought them to the police station.

Action was taken against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Here the team arrested both of them and took them to Lucknow to present them in the court. Let us tell you that on 27 October 2023, the District Officer (Irrigation Officer) was arrested by the Anti Corruption Team Jhansi while taking a bribe of Rs 10 thousand in the District Department Office itself.
