4th July was a memorable day for Indian cricket fans. The T20 World Cup returned home. Team India, which won the first T20 World Cup title in 2007, returned with the trophy for the second time. Then what happened… Indian fans, who had been waiting for this trophy for 17 years, came out on the streets from Delhi to Mumbai to welcome their favorite stars. The celebration of this victory lasted for 16 hours.
When Rohit’s brigade landed at Delhi airport from Barbados on Thursday morning at 6.10 am, fans came out in large numbers to welcome them. After this, the team met PM Narendra Modi. Then the team reached Mumbai. Fans stood on the road for 6 hours in the rain to welcome them at Marine Drive. The celebration went on till 10 pm.

Started with respect in Mumbai… BCCI gave 125 crores
BCCI honored the players of the world champion team India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Here, Board President Rojan Binny and Secretary Jai Shah handed over a cheque of Rs 125 crore to the team. During this, the Indian players were seen dancing to the beats of drums at Wankhede.

Indian players including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma started dancing as soon as they reached Wankhede Stadium.
Rohit saluted Hardik, Dravid said- I will miss this love
- Rahul Dravid said, ‘What these boys have done is unbelievable. Hard work, resilience, never give up attitude, constantly trying to get better. I will miss this love.
- Rohit Sharma said, ‘Thanks to everyone. It has been great since we came to India. This trophy is for the whole country.’ Praised Hardik Pandya’s bowling. Said, salute to him. Hardik Pandya reached Wankhede Stadium with the trophy. As soon as he reached the stadium, people chanted ‘Hardik…Hardik’.
- Jasprit Bumrah said, ‘I don’t cry after any cricket match, but after that victory, I felt tears coming out of my eyes 2-3 times.’
- Virat Kohli said, ‘When Rohit was on the stairs, there were tears in my eyes and his. This was the first time I saw him being so emotional. When we won the World Cup in 2011, all the senior players were emotional, I did not know why they were crying so much. Today when I won the trophy after waiting so long, I came to know why he was so emotional.’

Victory parade at Mumbai’s Marine Drive lasted for 40 minutes, more than 3 lakh fans attended
At the felicitation ceremony, Rohit said, ‘Mumbai never disappoints anyone.’ The reason for this was that fans started gathering at Marine Drive from 2 pm to welcome Team India. More than 3 lakh people were present on the 3 km long Marine Drive. They were climbing on buildings, trees, buses and vehicles.
When the victory parade started here, the Indian star also did not disappoint the fans. Be it Rohit or Virat, Bumrah or Hardik, everyone was dancing with joy in the 48-minute victory parade. They were not able to control themselves seeing the crowd. Rahul Dravid, who was in a serious mood, was also seen chirping with joy. He was greeting people by raising his hand. He sometimes hugged Rohit, sometimes Virat and sometimes Hardik on the open roof bus.

More than 3 lakh fans were present at Marine Drive.
Fans were seen waving the tricolour on the houses in front of Marine Drive.
Fans climbed onto the roofs of houses to get a glimpse of the Indian players.
Fans started arriving at Marine Drive from 2 pm onwards.
As soon as Team India’s plane reached Mumbai airport, it was welcomed with water cannon.
Team India stayed in New Delhi for 8 hours: Welcomed at the airport, met PM Modi
Team India reached Delhi from Barbados at 6:10 am on Thursday. Coming out of the terminus, captain Rohit Sharma, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and president Roger Binny cut the cake. During this, Indian fans were seen desperate to get a glimpse of their favorite heroes.
From the airport, the team reached Hotel ITC Maurya. Here, captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya performed Bhangra. A special cake was also cut at the hotel. After this, everyone reached the PM residence at 10.46 am. During this, the players gifted a jersey to the PM, on which Namo-1 is written. The players stayed at the PM residence for about 2 hours.

Team India met PM Narendra Modi at the PM residence. The team stayed there for 2 hours.

PM Modi was seen carrying Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan’s son Angad in his lap.
Team India was stuck in Barbados for three days due to the storm. BCCI had sent a special plane to bring them back. The name of this plane was ‘Champions 24 World Cup’.
