Water filled on the roads of the village, the way out was also blocked
In Gaonwadi village of Meerut, Mawana, the village is getting submerged even without rain. Due to poor sanitation system, the roads in the village are filled with water up to three feet. Villagers have been passing through this stinking water for the last 10 days. At the same time, houses are getting damaged due to continuous waterlogging.

Villagers said that due to water leakage in the walls, many houses are ready to collapse, while waterlogging has caused cracks in a dozen houses. Villagers allege that no hearing has taken place even after submitting a complaint letter to the SDM. They have warned that if the flooding on the road and the overflow of water in the pond are not fixed within a week, then hundreds of villagers will be forced to migrate from the village with their families.
The main road is submerged in water even without rain
Due to the waterlogging situation, it has become difficult for children to go to school and go out, while passersby and villagers are seen passing through the waterlogging with the help of their vehicles. Villagers say that studies have also been disrupted due to children not going to school.
Encroachment on the pond increased the trouble
People of village Gaonwadi under Mawana Block told that due to heavy waterlogging on the road, two and a half to three feet of water is flowing on the main road. Due to the waterlogging like situation, epidemics and infections are spreading in the village and people are falling ill. Due to encroachment on the pond situated in the village for the last two years, the water of the pond has overflowed due to which a flood like situation has arisen on the main road of the village. Due to the lack of drainage of the pond water due to the rains in the past few days, water has come on the roads and entered people’s houses.
Snakes and scorpions roaming in the water
Due to two and a half to three feet water flowing on the main roads, some villagers’ houses are on the verge of collapse due to leakage in the walls of the houses, while many houses have developed cracks. Due to two and a half to three feet water on the roads, snakes and scorpions are seen swimming in the water, which has created an atmosphere of panic among the people. Villagers say that the fodder and straw kept for the animals has been spoiled due to the water entering the house. Villagers have even built cement mounds at the main entrance of their houses to stop water from entering the house.
Complained to SDM, result is zero
Recently, the above mentioned people of village Gaonwadi informed SDM Ankit Kumar and block officials about the problem of waterlogging but no hearing could take place. Rampal, Jeet Singh, Yashveer Singh Bhati, Sundar Bhati, Joginder, Jaipal, Ompal Singh, Prakash, Pratap, Mahavir, Vijaypal, Somveer Singh, Man Singh, Mangat Singh, Satpal, Rakesh, Pramesh, Parmeet, Sumit have complained.
Villagers are suffering from fever and allergies
Recently, people passing through the situation of severe waterlogging on the main road have fallen prey to infectious diseases. Villagers say that the smell emanating from the waterlogging on the road has made life difficult for the people, while people in a dozen houses are suffering from allergies and fever. There is encroachment on the pond and there is no drainage of water here.
SDM Ankit Kumar said that the complaint letter has been received. On the basis of which orders have been given to resolve the issue by informing the block officials and VDO. Soon the problem of the villagers will be resolved.
