India Women lost the first T20: South Africa defeated them by 12 runs, Indian bowlers flopped against the top order

Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemima Rodriguez could not help Team India win despite making a partnership of 90 runs in 59 balls.
After defeating South Africa one-sidedly in the Test and ODI series, the Indian women’s team had to face defeat in the first T20. South Africa won by 12 runs on Friday night at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
South African opener Tajmin Britz scored 81, Marizanne Kapp scored 57 and captain Laura Wolvaardt scored 33 runs. The top order took the team’s score to 189. In response, Team India could only score 177 runs after losing 4 wickets. Britz, who missed a century, was the player of the match. The second T20 match of the series will be played on 7 July in Chennai from 7 pm.
African openers made fifty partnership
India Women won the toss and chose to bowl first. South Africa’s Wolwart and Britz made a fifty partnership in 7 overs. In the 8th over, Radha Yadav bowled Wolwart and broke the opening partnership. Wolwart scored 33 runs.
Radha Yadav gave the first blow to South Africa.
Cap hits fifty
Experienced all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, who came in at number-3, supported opener Britz. Both of them took the team’s score past 100 in the 12th over itself. Britz completed her fifty by hitting a four in the 16th over against Pooja Vastrakar. In the same over, Kapp also completed her half-century by hitting a four.
Radha broke the partnership again
In the 17th over, Radha Yadav got Kapp caught out, Kapp scored 57 runs. With this wicket, the partnership of 96 runs for the second wicket was also broken. Britz made the over big by hitting 2 sixes on the last 2 balls of the same over.
In the last 3 overs, Britz along with Chloe Tryon took the team’s score past 185. Tryon scored 12 runs. Britz was out on the last ball of the innings after scoring 81 runs. Both were sent to the pavilion by Pooja Vastrakar. The team scored a huge score of 189 runs at the loss of 4 wickets.

India also made a strong start
Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana also gave India a strong start. Both of them took the team’s score past 50 runs in just 5 overs. After a good start, Shefali was caught behind by Ayabonga Khakha in the sixth over. Shefali scored 18 runs.
The innings fell apart after a good start
Dayalan Hemalatha came in at number-3, but she put pressure on Mandhana. Only 5 fours came in the next 5 overs. 86 runs were scored in 9 overs, in the 10th over Chloe Tryon made 4 dot balls, the result was that Mandhana was stumped on the last ball. She scored 46 runs. In the very next over, Hemalatha was also out after playing a slow innings of 14 runs in 17 balls.
Smriti Mandhana was out after scoring 46 runs.
Rodriguez-Kaur took over the innings
India lost 3 wickets at a score of 87 runs. From here, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemima Rodriguez took over the innings. They took over the innings, but the scoring rate remained very slow. Only 23 runs were scored between 11 and 14 overs. 15 runs were scored in the 15th over, but after 16 overs, the score remained at 131 runs.
59 runs needed in last 4 overs
12 runs were scored in the 17th over, 8 in the 18th over and 18 in the 19th over. 21 runs needed in the last over, Harman hit a four on the first ball, tried to play a shot on the second ball as well, but only 2 runs were scored.
15 runs needed from 4 balls, here only 2 runs were scored from 2 balls. Now 13 runs are needed from 2 balls, but despite putting in all her effort Harman could not score any runs. She was stumped on the last ball. Jemima scored 53 and Harman scored 35 runs. From South Africa, Khakha, Tryon, Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba took 1-1 wickets.

All T20s are in Chennai
By winning the first T20 match, South Africa has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The second match will be played on 7th July and the third match on 9th July in Chennai. Before the T20 series, India had won the ODI series 3-0. India had also won the only Test match by 10 wickets.
India will have to win the next match to remain in the T20 series.
