The body of 27 year-old Preeti, wife of Kanhaiyalal, resident of Mohalla Srinagar Naya Basti of Kotwali Hathras Gate, was found hanging from a noose in a room inside the house. When people informed the police about it, the police too reached the spot and investigated and enquired about the matter. After this, the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem. On receiving the information, people from the maternal side came and these people alleged that the murder was committed because the dowry demand was not met. Kanhaiya Lal, resident of Mohalla Srinagar of Kotwali Hathras Gate area, was married to Preeti 6 years ago.

Police reached the spot and inquired

After marriage, Preeti had two children. Her parents allege that Kanhaiya Lal and other in-laws used to harass Preeti for dowry. Today, Preeti’s body was found hanging from a noose. People informed the police about this. The police also sent the body for post-mortem after conducting an inquiry on the spot.
