Let us tell you that this Aughadnath temple of Meerut is an ancient temple of historical importance. Its history is associated with the revolution of 1857. Every year on the Shivratri of Sawan, lakhs of Shiva devotees perform Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath in this Shiv temple. Kanwariyas bring Ganga water in Kanwad from Haridwar and Gaumukh and complete their fast by anointing Bholenath with it.
This year too, a large number of Kanwariyas are expected to arrive. Therefore, the officers took stock of the preparations at the temple. CCTV, control room, security arrangements, parking and other points were reviewed. ADG DK Thakur, Commissioner Selva Kumari J, DM Deepak Meena and other officers were present on this occasion.
